Shopping & beer make for an interesting combination.
I never knew San Miguel Corporation annually hosts a tiangge. But there it is. SMC employees run this 2-day event. This event not only has lots of food and stuff on sale, but also lots of San Miguel Beer!
Here’s are some pictures of SMC’s Christmas Tiangge 2007 by Anada Kanani.
Enjoy!

Are you starting to plan for what to give you kids, nieces, nephews this Christmas? Something that they will enjoy playing with and inexpensive perhaps?
I visited the Corinthian Gardens Bazaar this weekend and made a pretty cool discovery.
Kids and parents a like were all flocked around a booth selling hermit crabs. But not just any ordinary hermit crabs mind you. These had shells painted with characters or designs on them.
Very cute!
At Php180 per crab, they’re a good, inexpensive gift. The picture above are the crabs (in their temporary plastic housing) that I bought for each my little nieces & nephews which I’m sure they will love!
I like that they teach kids to be responsible but are very easy to take care of.
All they need are:
- a container w/ tap water
- a container w/ tap water and a pinch of rock salt
- Food before the kids’ go to sleep: red / orange vegetables, fruits or dessicated coconut.
- a small atomizer filled with tap water to mist the crab & their surroundings with from time to time.
Neat little trick:
I noticed that whenever you mist the crab inside its shell, it tends to come out of it!
Tip: Crabs like to climb so be sure to decorate their home with something to climb. Make sure though that it is not high enough for the crab to escape.

If you’ve heard of Glee but don’t know what the fuss is all about, here’s one of my all time favorite episodes of Glee (Season 1, Episode 4). The football team uses surprise as a strategy to win the game.

2. 600 participating concessionaires
Among the various bazaars happening throughout the city, the St. James bazaar stands out because of the more than 600 participating concessionaires. That’s a lot of choices! Hopefully, you’ll get your Christmas shopping done in a day!

Perhaps due to the global downturn, local manufacturers & exporters themselves will be joining the bazaar. This is great news for shoppers to possibly get lower prices and better deals!
4. Good Product Diversity & Range
Concessionaires are coming from all over the Philippines. Manufacturers, exporters, importers and traders from all over the Philippines like Davao, Cebu, Palawan, Sulu, Bicol, Iloilo, Baguio, Pampanga, Quezon, Bulacan, Laguna and Batangas will be joining as well. This adds to the diversity, quantity and quality of products available to shoppers.

The participation of well-known eateries ensures shoppers have a wide selection of food to choose from such as Las Paellas, Tapa King, Brothers Burger, Barrio Fiesta, Serye Restaurant, Yellow Cab, Ellies Roasted Calf, Coolman Halo-Halo, Potato Corner, Odd Balls, Theobroma.
6. FREE shuttle service
I like that the organizers are thoughtful enough to provide FREE shuttle service from the shopping venue to their parked cars.
